First Neulasta Injection to prevent hospitalization
I got the Neulasta shot today after talking with my med onc. I heard that perhaps Neulasta can lead to leukemia down the road so I wanted to talk to my med onc to see what the current literature was. He said there's no sound evidence of a white blood cell stimulator leading to leukemia, although studies with red blood cell stimulators, like Procrit, eopotein, showed a link. Also, he highly recommended that I take the Neulasta since my neutrophil count reached zero, and it could lead to life-threatening infections. There may be bone pain for a few days, but I can take Advil, Tylenol, or oxycodone, if it gets that bad.

What kind of bone pain would it be and how long would it be expected to last? Would it be in a particular area?
ugh, i hate the fact that it presents the possibility of triggering leukemia later on, even if that possibility is remote.
i hope your bone pain won't get too bad.
Kyung, how often do you have to get these Neulasta shots? How is the pain? Stay strong, dear Kyung! Love ya.
You look as cute as can be. Right now is a good time to try a new part or haircut that you would be too nervous to do otherwise. The earrings are great!
So we're all game for the 9th, if you're up for it. If not, no worries, we'll reschedule accordingly.
I love when you post pictures. You're always smiling and that makes me happy.
I just found out that my coworker wears a wig on a daily basis, and I never knew!!! The only reason I found out is because she was wearing a different color wig on Halloween and I asked her if she was wearing a wig. She replied by pulling the thing off to expose what seemed to be a bird's nest of hair. That bird's nest was in no way the usual hair that I had been accustomed to seeing. She said that she wears wigs everyday because her hair is thin and unmanageable. I think her wig is one of those $400 ones. Nonethless, it looks totally naturally and a heck of a lot better than what she's got going on below it. Of course, I didn't mention that. The funny part was she did it in front of my male boss who was at a complete loss for words. He's awkward at best and completely idiotic at worst...but always hilarious.
Love,
Melissa
Heya guys, I don't have any bone pain so far. It may be in the hips and legs, maybe the back near the spine, wherever lots of blood cells are being produced. So far, Neulasta and I are getting along fine. I'm not taking any pain meds. Don't worry!
Melissa, your story is hilarious. Your co-worker should be careful where she reveals herself. Remember especially beware when driving! Glad you like the earrings, just got them. You can see my "bird's nest" when you come up.
