Couldn't avoid being called Sir
The man behind the JC Penny counter wanted to make polite conversation. I believe that he knew I was a woman since I was buying a woman's sweater and was wearing long earrings, but it slipped out, "How are you doing, sir..er ma'am?" I didn't wear my wig, just my hat, since some of my hair is still hanging on. I even put a flower pin in my hat. Later, he said in Korean that I had a pretty name and that he was Korean. Just polite conversation, but why did he have to make that mistake? Note to self: Buy bigger jewelry?

kyunghee, don't worry about it - if this guy was korean, maybe he just made a language error. my parents mix up pronouns all the time. he probably didn't even notice the one thing that is making you the most self-conscious right now.
when i had super cropped hair in college and i would bundle up in the cold new england winters, i would get called sir all the time. and i always found it funny.
and as for bigger jewelery, i like that idea. :) a gurl can never have enough, and can never be too big. :)
kisses sweetie. you must look super cute with a hat and little flower pin on your head.
One time when I was in 3rd grade, a girl at the pool asked me if I was a boy or a girl. Seriously, what boy wears a purple and white one piece bathing suit??? After getting over the initial shock, I replied with "Girl, duh!!!" Then I slinked out the pool and sat next to my mom in horror. As I was watching the heartless brat from the side of the pool, I heard her asking other boys and girls the same question. At least yours was an accident. Mine was an intentional hit to my youthful fragile self esteem, or lack thereof. Oooh, to be young. HAHAHAHHAH! No seriously, that is a true story!
